Phayam Surfers

Ao Yai Beach

Anton and Pelle are two Swedish brothers from another mother who love sharing their passion for surfing! They’ve been running Phayam Surfers for over a decade backed by many years of professional surf instruction and local knowledge.

No need to lug around your big stick because you can choose from a wide variety of surfboard lengths, Stand-Up Paddle boards, and even good old fashioned Boogie Boards for rent here.  They also offer snorkeling equipment rentals, and PADI certified dive courses with dive trips to nearby Myanmar, Surin Islands National Park, and the world famous, Jacques-Yves Cousteau-discovered, Richelieu Rock.

These guys love and live the wonderful lifestyle of surfing and are happy to share it with anyone who comes their way.  And when your arms turn into spaghetti noodles from hours of paddling, indulge yourself in a beachside massage then go chill at their surf themed beach bar and enjoy the thirst-quenching cocktails in a lounge-like atmosphere.  You’re guaranteed a spectacular sunset every evening with good people and good vibes.  Welcome to the Land (& Seas) of Smiles!

Beginner lessons using a safe soft top surfboard include ocean safety, surf etiquette, proper board stance and positioning, learning the “pop-up” maneuver, catching broken waves (white wash), and getting some gnarly rides, of course!

Intermediate lessons include paddle techniques, learning how and when to paddle out efficiently, and reading and riding unbroken waves.

You can drop by for private lessons between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM or book in advance to schedule a specific time.  Be sure to secure your time in advance if you would like group lessons (4+ people) and share the stoke with your surf buddies! Times will vary with the tide and surf conditions.
